2010 isn't over yet, but I'll go ahead and mention some of my favs... so far. Favorite Book(s): I recently discovered a treasure in L.A. Banks' Vampire Huntress series (and yes, Banks and I had a conversation about my doing the film). Favorite CD: Soldier of Love (Sade)... finally! Favorite Film: The Book of Eli (Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Jennifer Beales) ...wow! Favorite Job: Directing "Route 66: Finding Nat King Cole" for Amun Ra Theatre in Nashville, TN. Favorite Moment: Thanksgiving with my family in Chicago, seeing my nieces Jennifer and Jacqueline and my nephews Jonathan and Jeffery, who I hadn't seen in too many years! Favorite Video: - The Commencement Speech of Deonte Bridges, 2010 Valedictorian of Booker T. Washington H.S. She recently starred in the Nashville Children's Theatre production of Bud, Not Buddy. Haymer took Natural Woman / Natural Hair author T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh's Tools of the Trade workshop in Nashville, TN this fall.
