Indies' Best Betts Filmmaker donnie betts is among a growing number of independent artists using the Internet to bring their projects to fruition. Through indiegogo.com, betts, who's films include the phenomenal Oscar Brown, Jr. documentary, Music is My Life, Politics My Mistress, is raising funds for his new film, We Wear The Mask Who Will Speak for the Children which will take an un-flinching look at Child Sex Abuse and Pedophilia in our society through three parts. Indiegogo allows individuals and entities to solicit project funding for a limited period of time. Betts' company, No Credits, has until October 12 to raise the $20,000 they hope to garner through the site. Out and About...
On Friday, September 17th, as part of its 10thAnniversary celebration, The HistoryMakers sent over 170 HistoryMakers into classrooms in fifty cities in twenty-five states from Michigan to Florida, from New York to California, to give inspirational stories and express the importance of education. I spoke at Pearl Cohn High School with fellow HistoryMakers “The Wind Done Gone” author Alice Randall and her husband, business leader David Ewing.
